Crystal Modlin
WEE School Director
I joined the FBC WEE School staff in August 2018 as a teacher. In 2020 I became the Lead teacher, and in 2024 I took on the role of Director. I am also the financial secretary at FBC. My husband is Justin Modlin and we have four children; Tyler, Landon, Trinity and Bodie. Before working at WEE School, I was a stay-at-home mom and provided in-home childcare for 12 years. I love the beach, hiking in the mountains and being outdoors. My favorite color is purple, food is steak cooked at home by my husband and drink is Dr. Pepper or sweet tea. I love being around kids and strive to make learning fun. I strive to help make WEE School a place to prepare children spiritually and academically for their transition to kindergarten!
Crystal Lilley
2 Year old Teacher
I joined the FBC Wee School staff as a 2 year old assistant in 2023. I'm thrilled to be transitioning to the Lead Teacher for the 2 year old class as of 2026. I am married and have 2 boys, Nolan and Chase. When I'm not in the classroom, you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors on a camping trip, cheering loudly from the sidelines at my kids' sporting events, or just relaxing at home with my family and pets. My favorite colors are pink and teal, and my favorite drink is Dr. Pepper. I look forward to watching your child grow spiritually and academically!
Ashley Godley
2 Year Old Teacher Assistant
This will be my first year at FBC Wee School, and I couldn’t be more excited! I can’t wait to get to know all of the wonderful children and families. I’m married and have two daughters, both of whom attended Wee School, so it’s especially meaningful to now be part of this amazing community. I’m looking forward to a fun, memorable, and joy-filled year of learning, laughter, and making special memories together!
Elizabeth Coltrain
Two Day 3 Year Old Teacher
This is my first official year at FBC WEE School as the 3 Year Old Teacher. I spent the 2025-2026 school year as a regular substitute, having the chance to work in each of the classrooms, and fell in love with teaching! I'm married to my husband Brant, and together we have two wonderfully lively children, Isla Brynn and Talan. Talan is a WEE School graduate, and Isla Brynn will be entering into her second year. We are members of the FBC Church Family and enjoy serving the church within the youth and childrens ministry. I look forward to assisting in the academic growth of our students as well as helping foster their relationship with Jesus Christ!
Pauline Taylor
Two-Day 3 Year Old Teacher Assistant
My journey at WEE School began in 2019 when I joined the school as a teacher assistant. In 2022, I stepped away from my role to welcome my second child and spend time focusing on my growing family. Now, I am blessed with the opportunity to return to a place that has always held a special place in my heart. I am married to my wonderful husband, Anthony, and together we have two boys, Luke and Ezra. Luke is a WEE School alumnus, and Ezra currently attends WEE School. I love working with children and watching them discover new things, build friendships, gain confidence, and grow in their independence. I am truly excited for the opportunity to help your little ones learn, grow, and flourish!
Caroline Smith
Four Day 3 Year Old Teacher
I started my career at WEE School in December 2024, as a teacher assistant. I am married to Matthew, and together we have two wonderful daughters, Elliott and Ever. They are proud alumni of FBC WEE School. I hold a strong commitment to early childhood education, and it is a goal to create a warm and engaging learning environment where children can explore, grow, and develop a love for the Lord and learning! I am so thankful for this opportunity to watch your children grow spiritually and academically.
Chelsea Modlin
Four-Day 3 Year Old Teacher Assistant
I began working at WEE School in March 2025 as a substitute teacher. In January 2026, I became an assistant teacher in the four year-old classroom and I have loved being part of this wonderful community! My husband, Logan, and I have a daughter named Elizabeth. When I'm not at WEE School, you can usually find me spending time with my family. We love taking golf cart rides and going to the waterfront for ice cream. My favorite color is pink, I love iced coffee, and steak is my favorite meal!
Sherrie Swain
4 Year Old Teacher
I am so excited to be given the privilege to teach one of the four-year-old WEE School classes. I am a retired National Board certified teacher and have been a member of First Baptist Church for over 30 years. I am married with two sons and two grandchildren. It is truly a blessing to be teaching your children, not only ABC’s and 123’s but also about the most important thing of all – Jesus.
Jenna Brewer
4 Year Old Teacher Assistant
Hi! I’m Jenna, a proud wife to my husband, Cody, and a mama of five wonderful children. After spending the last five years as a stay-at-home mom, I’m excited to begin a new adventure as a teacher assistant. I love spending time with my family, especially at the beach, the mountains, and waterparks. My favorite color is blue, and I love Japanese food. I’m passionate about helping children learn, grow, and succeed, and I’m excited to make a positive impact in the classroom.
Wendi Jackson
4 Year Old Teacher
I am an ECU graduate with an Elementary Education degree. I have taught PreK EC, first grade and Preschool with three- and four-year-olds. I love teaching children and watching them grow through Jesus. I love photography and going on adventures all over the country. I have three children and three grandchildren whom I love dearly. I love working at FBC WEE School, it has been so wonderful!
